Cup & Shield Shocks.

The T P Brennan Connacht Cup 3rd Round Ballisodare United were at home to Super League leaders Carbury FC. Both slides were evenly match and it was on the stroke of half time when Carbury took the lead courtesy of Colm Jinks.

Ballisodare responded in positive fashion five minutes into the second half with a blistering free kick to level the game. Both sides continued an open attacking attitude and with eighteen minutes remaining Dylan Edwards of Carbury broke free racing into the Ballisodare danger area he gave keeper Gavin Phelan no chance as he slotted home the winning goal. A Great game of football that could have gone on either way but once again Carbury showed their cutting edge as they advance in the Connacht Cup.

T P Brennan Connacht Cup & Shield (Sunday 12th February)
Cup and Shield Shocks Galore.

The first rounds of the T.P. Brennan Connacht Cup took place this weekend with plenty of clubs in action. Ballisodare United welcomed Salthill Devon to Union and what a game we had.

Teenager Rolly Anderson hitting the back of the Salthill net after only two minutes to set the stage for a remarkable performance from the Boys of Ballisodare. Salthill Devon fought back but on sixty two minutes Niall Howley played a gem of a cross into goal poacher supreme Andrew Patton who hung the ball high into the Salthill goals that earned a great win for a classy Ballisodare United.

Aughanagh Celtic hosted Mayo league side Swinford and won by three goals to one courtesy of strikes from Dermot Beggan Sean Carty and Thomas Cryan. Swinford scored once through Alan Carr.

Istanbul 2017
